Fannie Mae “Fran” Butler, age 85, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Monday, January 25, 2021.
She was born in Dahlonega, but spent most of her adult life in Illinois. She worked 40 plus years at Marquis Restaurant in Broadview, IL until she was 80, still working 6 days a week at that age. She came back to Dahlonega 5 years ago due to her health. Fran was quite the spunky mother and grandmother, aunt, and friend. She always helped people in need and had a very giving heart.
She was the daughter of the late Burton Ray and Leona Beck Martin, and was also preceded in death by her sons, James Ray Butler and Jerry Dale Butler, as well as an infant son; and brother, Kenneth Martin.
Fran is survived by her son, Jeff Butler, Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Russell Butler, Cindy Butler, Adam Butler, Jeff Butler Jr., and Johnny Butler; great grandchildren, Dustin Jarrard, Eli McMillian, and Owen Butler; and 2 great great grandchildren, Parker Jarrard and Jameson McMillian. Nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
