Betty Jo Howell

Mrs. Betty Jo Howell age 80 of Gainesville, Ga went to be with her Lord and Savior,  Jesus sent her husband to take her home,  on Monday January 25, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday January 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mark Russell and Reverend Bobby Griffin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Betty was born on October 30, 1940 in Gainesville, Ga to the late David Samuel Brown and Kathleen Strickland Brown. She retired from JcPenny Department Store where she was a fine Jewelry purchaser and was a member of New Haven C.H. Church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. Betty had a great sense of humor and a loving personality. She is preceded in death by her parents, and Husband, Herman Howell.  

Mrs. Howell is survived by her children and spouses, Misti and Kenny Abernathy, Shane and Cyndie Howell, Mark and Tiffany Howell, Wendi and Ronald Phagan, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers, Benny Brown and Michael Brown both of Gainesville, Ga, brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s, Clarence and Lucille Howell, Heyward and Barbara Howell, sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s, Frances and James Beard, Nell and Ferrell Bray, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
