Joann Chester Harrison, 72, of Braselton passed away Friday January 22, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton.
Born May 9, 1948 in Lumpkin County to the late Coy and Vivian Chester, she had lived in Braselton for the past 8 years having moved from Dawsonville. Joann retired as a distribution clerk for Roadway Trucklines after over 20 years of service. She loved and was very devoted to her faith in God, and to her family, especially her grandsons. She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the beach and shopping. A member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Chester.
Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Kellie and Greg Hunsinger, Braselton; grandsons, Dalton Hunsinger, Jonah Hunsinger; sisters and brothers in law, Wanda and Scott Clayton, Dahlonega, Paulette and Jimmy Gee, Dawsonville, Donna and Johnny Thomas, Dawsonville; brothers and sister in law, L. D. and Brenda Chester, Dahlonega, Kenny Chester, McKee, KY; her companion of many years, Tony Herring, Winder; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 26, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kris Butler and Rev. Russell Burt will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
