Doris Jean Smith Swafford

Mrs. Doris Jean Smith Swafford, 83, of Oakwood, GA went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Born on January 25, 1937 in Avondale, NC she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Smith Beason. She was retired from Rehab Industries of Northeast Georgia. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swafford is preceded in death by her husband, Vance Swafford.

Mrs. Swafford is survived by her daughter, Susan Rettig (Jack) of Gainesville; son, Ricky Swafford (Miki) of Gainesville; grandson, Tony Beheler (Sybil) of Oakwood; grandson, Chris Beheler (Kim) of Monroe; granddaughter, Leigh Dyer (Brad) of Hoschton; Grandson, Matthew Swafford of Flowery Branch; granddaughter, Leslie Swafford of Flowery Branch; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Linda Norman (Ralph) of Lexington, NC, Helen Burgess of Ellenboro, NC, Cathy Stanley (Troy) of NC, Pam Coverdale (Lawrence) of FL; brother, Mike Beason (Jewel) of NC and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
