Marie Nichols McQueen age 83 of Flowery Branch entered heaven Thursday January 21, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born December 2, 1937 in Cumming to the late Doyle & Mae Watkins Nichols. She was a graduate of Forsyth County High School, and had worked several years for Owen Osborne Hosiery Mill & Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. She also worked part time at Ward’s Funeral Home as the secretary. Marie was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Sugar Hill & previously served as the pianist at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Flowery Branch for several years. She was preceded in death by her brother, D.C. Nichols.
Survivors include her loving husband, Haskell McQueen; brothers, Glenn (Carol) Nichols, Benny (Jean) Nichols; sister, Claudine (Jim) Nordhues; sister-in-law, Betty Nichols; niece who was more like a daughter, Kristie Kiser; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Nathaniel & Lillian McQueen; sister-in-law & brother-in-law-, Amanda & Earl Holman; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 24, 2021 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Nix officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. & again from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
