Sydney Carolyn Shockley Wofford

Mrs. Sydney Carolyn Shockley Wofford, 81 of Gainesville passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021.

Born in Hall County, Mrs. Wofford was the daughter of the late J.D. and Oma Savage Shockley.  Mrs. Wofford was retired from West Building Materials and was a member of the Lula United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and David Piemme, Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Debby Wofford, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Alex Wofford and Zoe Wofford, both of Tampa, FL; sisters, Barbara Dill, Gainesville; Arlene Ervin, Commerce; brother, Richard Shockley, Commerce.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Wofford is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edwin Howard Wofford and a sister, Helen Shockley.

Graveside services will be held Saturday January 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westview Cemetery in Lula.  Rev. Tom Fish will officiate.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic  Mrs. Wofford will lie in state Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Lula United Methodist Church.
