John Williams Banks

Mr. John Williams Banks, age 66, of Watkinsville passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Ford will officiate.

Mr. Banks was born October 27, 1954 to the late Harold W. and Annie Banks in Atlanta. A veteran of the United States Navy from 1982 to 1989, he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cartersville. A graduate of Cass High School in 1973, he worked for Ace Hardware Gainesville Distribution Center in the warehouse, until retirement in 2013.  

Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Gayle Banks of Watkinsville; his siblings, Jimmy and Doria Banks of Kennesaw, Harold and Rachel Banks of Methuen, Massachusetts, Evelyn Banks McDougald of Oakwood, and Patti Crowe of McCaysville; several nieces and nephews; and special aunt, Mary Lou Ward of Gainesville.
