James Edward "Jimmy" Allen

James Edward "Jimmy" Allen, age 75, of Clarkesville, Georgia went to be with Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Mr. Allen was born on August 4, 1945 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Cale and Vera Palmer Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annetta Maness. Mr. Allen was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest.  He was retired from Scovil Manufacturing with 45 years of dedicated service. Jimmy was known to his grandchildren and great-grandson as "Papa Jimmy". He was an avid fisherman. He also loved to spend time collecting rocks, and was a member of The Northeast Georgia Mineral Society.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Woods Allen, of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Donna Allen, of Clarkesville; Thomas and Leah Allen, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Daniel Allen and his wife, Brittany, Paige Allen and fiance, Blake Slaton, Jerry Allen, Brittney Allen and boyfriend, Otis Budd; and great-grandson, Sawyer James Allen.
 
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Charles Holland officiating. Interment will be held in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021 at the funeral home.
