Eva Ruth Shirley, age 86, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on January 19, 2021.
Ruth was born the daughter of the late John Houck and the late Maude Wilbanks Houck on May 26, 1934. In her professional life she worked as a supervisor in the textile industry for Empire and for Clayburn Manufacturing. Ruth always enjoyed talking to people. She liked to cook and can for her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Guy Shirley; one son, Sutton Shirley; three brothers, James, Harold and Jeff Houck; one sister, Louise Gravley, preceded her in death.
Her survivors include her sons, Luke Shirley (Sharon), of Clayton, Leon Shirley (Roxie), of Clayton, her daughter, Linda Loudermilk, of Clayton, two brothers, Roy Houck, of Clayton and Hubert Houck (Lucy), of Clayton; one sister, Edna Warren, of Loganville; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren, also survive her.
A private family service will be held with burial to take place in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund P. O. Box 14 Tiger, Georgia 30576.
