Rev. Thomas Howard “Tommy” Lamb, 72, of Cumming, Georgia passed away January 17, 2021. He was born on September 16, 1948 and was a veteran of the US Army where he served from 1968 to 1969. Tommy was saved when he was a young man on a Wednesday at Concord Baptist Church and was a member, home preacher, and a Sunday School teacher for many years at Silver City Baptist Church. He could always be found witnessing to someone about his Lord and Savior or just telling a funny story. He loved going to the mountains, taking nature walks, and listening to Jerry Clower. He was a great man who lived his testimony in his daily walk. If you knew or met Tommy, he probably gave you a white stone with Revelation 2:17 written on it and would tell you to go look it up. He was a well-respected, God fearing, yet simple man who loved spending time with his family.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Linton and Rose Lamb, father-in-law, Loyd Allen, sister Joy Clark, and brother-in-law Michael Allen. He is survived by his wife Debbie Lamb and his children Stacy Lamb and Tim Clark, Kristy and Chris Doyle both of Flagler Beach, Patty and Robby Payne of Dawsonville, Kristy Sanders of Dawsonville, and Tim Evans and Haleigh Brown of Cumming. His grandchildren are Chelsie Heard and Brandon Wilbanks, Sarah Heard, Jessup and Jamey Payne, Ansley Payne, Megan Reece and Hunter Glover, Abigail and Blake Ingram, Kenneth Sanders, and Faith Allen; great grandchildren Lilly Wilbanks, Weston Payne, Camden and Canaan Reece, and Liam and Olivia Ingram. He is also survived by mother-in-law Wilda Pirkle, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Kathy Lamb, brother in laws/sister in laws David and Shelia Clark, Tracy and David Britt, Otis and Michelle Allen, Stanley and Vicky Allen, multiple nieces and nephews, and special friends, whom he loved dearly, Taylor Shirley and Mildred (Melissa) Butler.
Funeral Services will be held Friday January 22, 2021 at 2 pm at Silver City Baptist Church. Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Stephen Davis, Rev. Chris Gilbert, Robby Payne, and Rev. Scott Sorrells will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
