Mrs. Cash was born in Gainesville, Georgia on March 19th, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Alton Perry Hall and Lillie Autry Hall. She lived through the Great Depression while growing up in the Mill Village of Gainesville Cotton Mill. That is where she went to work at a young age, and met her husband Royce Lee Cash (cousin to the country music legend Johnny Cash). She loved country and gospel music. She enjoyed dancing, and often played guitar and sang at home, in her younger days of raising her children. After working in the cotton mill over 30 years, she retired. She then decided to work at Arby’s in Gainesville where she spent 23 more years until age 85. Mrs. Cash loved crocheting beautiful afghans for all her family and friends. She always enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, and made sure her niece Judy Berry called her with the schedule for every game. She loved the Lord and loved her family and was known to her grandkids as “Maw-Maw”. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cash is preceded in death by her late husband, Royce Lee Cash, of Gainesville; son, the late James Norman Cash, of Murrayville; and grandson, the late Casey Kinsey, of Clermont; her sister the late Aline (John Grant), of Gainesville.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva (and Lee Roy) Ivey, of Augusta; her son, Lee Roy Cash, of Lula; her daughter, Sue Cash Kinsey, of Clermont; and daughter-in-law, Peggy Cash, of Murrayville.
