Reverend Colen V. Davis

Rev. Colen V. Davis, age 93, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Parrie McDaniel Davis; sisters, Florene Ashworth and Jettie Overby; and brother, Leon Davis. Rev. Davis is survived by his wife of seventy-six years, Nelle King Davis, Buford, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Luther Smith, Sugar Hill, GA, Joyce and Randall Heard, Cumming, GA, Judy and Kenneth Gravitt, Sugar Hill, GA and Jean and John Tucker, Gainesville, GA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Bell Davis Graham, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rev. Davis was born February 17, 1927 in Buford, GA. He operated a shoe repair shop in Tom’s Shoe Store and was a retired machinist. He was a Ham Radio operator and he was an avid Braves Baseball fan. Rev. Davis was a member of Buford Church of God in Buford, GA for over sixty plus years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 15^th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family request that everyone attending to please wear a mask for the safety of everyone.
