John L. Thompson, Jr.

John L. Thompson, Jr., age 54, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 following an extended illness.

Mr. Thompson was born on December 31, 1966 in Hall County, Georgia to the late John L. Thompson, Sr. and Frances L. Craven Thompson. He was owner and operator of Thompson Custom Cabinets for over 25 years. Mr. Thompson attended Alto C.H. Church. John was a loving, dedicated, and hardworking husband and father. He never met a stranger, and had many friends over the years. He had served as an Assistant Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts Troop 24 in Cornelia.  

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Sandy Thompson, of Alto; son, John Michael Thompson, of Alto; daughter, Grace Elizabeth Thompson, of Alto; sister, Joyce Harper, of Bluffington, SC; brother, Jeff Thompson, of Cleveland.  

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Scott Ledbetter and Pastor Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Alto C.H. Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
