Effie Chadwick Long

Mrs. Effie Chadwick Long age 93 of Winder, Ga formerly of Flowery Branch, Ga, passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center- Barrow Campus.  

Graveside services will be held on Sunday January 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Charles Shadburn will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 17, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.    

Mrs. Long was born on January 08, 1928 in Duluth, Ga to the late Edward Pat Mayhue,  Lula Pool Mayhue. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Ga and worked at Fawn Togs where she was an order filler for many years, and she retired from Lovable Company, Buford, Ga. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 48 years, Edwin Long, sons, Keith Hilliard Chadwick, Dennis Glen Chadwick, step-son, Joseph Edwin Long, brothers, Edward J. Mayhue, Marlon Mayhue, sisters, Essie Cain, twin sister, Viola Bacom, Vera Garmon, Edna Cofer and step-grand-daughter, Kristy Long.    

Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay Chadwick Guffin (Randal) of Winder, step-daughter and husband, Michelle Long Kemp (Robby) of Braselton, grandchildren, Michael Guffin (Ashley), Alanna Guffin Kilpatrick (Brian), Dusty Gooch, Kai Kemp (Tiffany), Kayli Kemp Perkins, Tracy Long, Shane Long, great-grandchildren, Jackson Kilpatrick, Easton Guffin, Tiana Gooch, Hailey Kemp, Ryker Kemp, Brentley Perkins, Bayli Perkins, Brynna Perkins, several nieces and nephews and other relatives. 

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
