Mary Jane Harkins

Mary Jane Harkins, 72, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Garner, Rev. Kenny Garner, and Rev. Jeff Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2021 from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.

Due to the current pandemic the family has requested that mask be required and the social distancing rule be adhered to.

Mrs. Harkins was born March 25, 1948 in Gainesville to the late Lee (Boss) and Eula Lee Garner. Mrs. Harkins worked for Gainesville Manufacturing, City Plumbing and Electric, H&H Shoppette, Hall County Schools, Union General Hospital, and Dawson County Schools. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mary Jane is preceded in death by her husband Fred Mitchel Harkins, brother Buddy Garner, brother Bobby Garner, sister Dorothy Nell Thomas, and sister Shirley Garner.

Mrs. Harkins is survived by her daughter Niki Mincey of Dawsonville, daughter and son-in-law Candy & Nicholas Bolden of Mississippi, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Stacey Harkins of Gainesville, son Jody Harkins of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law Butch and Joyce Garner of Gainesville, sister Carolyn Cochran of Gainesville, brother Wayne Garner of Gainesville, sister and brother-in-law Corine and Tom Morrison of Dawsonville. 12 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and several loving nieces, nephews and other relatives.
