Mrs. Carolyn Mae Wittig, age 73, of Gainesville passed away Monday, January 11, 2021.
Mrs. Wittig passed peacefully at her family home in Gainesville. Born July 30, 1947 she was the daughter of the late James Tyler Castleberry Sr. and Lillie Mae Durand Castleberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Robert Phillip Wittig and sister Lisa Castleberry. She is survived by her son Rev. David Bost, her daughter Christy (Lance) Robinson, Grandson Jacob (Rachel) Robinson, Granddaughters Carrie Lynne Robinson and Raechel Robinson and Great Grandchildren Aiden, Sarah, and Lucas Robinson, and her Brother James T. Castleberry Jr. (Nancy) Niece Amanda Deming (Jody & Family), Nephew Dr. Joshua Castleberry (Leigh & Family), Cousins and other Extended Family.
Mrs. Wittig spent 27 years with Allstate Insurance / Sears Consumer Finance where she worked in management. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Friend, and a Spiritual Mother sharing Jesus with many. She loved the mountains, the beach and traveling. She loved all children and cherished her family.
She was a Member of Saint Paul UMC of Lumpkin County where she was a Sunday School Teacher and supported several mission projects.
