Betty Burt Stripland, 75, of Cumming passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at Season’s Hospice.
Born October 2, 1945 in Dawson County to the late Ed and Carrie Burt, she lived most of her life in Forsyth County. Betty formerly owned and operated Stripland’s Superette after which she was very active in real estate investments and was also a licensed cosmetologist. She enjoyed travel, visiting the casinos, and was very devoted to her family. Betty was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Stripland; sisters, Maudie Robertson, Ethel Odom; and a brother, Edwin Burt.
Surviving are her companion of over 30 years, Tim Lance, Cumming; stepchildren, Gail and David Hester, Cumming, Scotty Lance, Cumming; grandchildren, Emily and Corey Martin, Mandy and Scott Sinkinson, Morgan Hester; great grandchildren, Anna Grace Martin, Callie Martin; sisters and brother in law, Edna and Herman Hubbard, Cumming, Peggy McGehee, Cumming; brother and sister in law, Billy and Dian Burt, Forsyth Co.; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ruel Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 Tuesday and 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
