Charles Edison Ivey

Mr. Charles Edison Ivey, 84, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Alta Vista Cemetery. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Born on June 13, 1937 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Clarence Edison and Frances Elizabeth Stewman Ivey. He was retired from the Department of Transportation where he worked in the Safety Training Office. Mr. Ivey was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard and a member of First Baptist Church.

Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Head Ivey of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Tim and Amie Ivey of Gainesville and brother in law, Billy Head of Gainesville.
