Derrick Young Collins

Derrick Young Collins age 59 of Gainesville, GA passed away on January 7, 2021.  

Derrick Collins affectionally known as “ Lil Fella” was born May 22, 1961 to the late Obidiah ( O.B.) Young and Carrie Mae Collins Jackson in Gainesville, Ga.
Lil Fella attended Johnson High School. He was employed by Dyer Roofing & later by International Ink for several years.
The lord called him home Thursday January 7th, 2021 suddenly. Lil Fella has a passion for his animals. Although he had no children his 2 dogs Lala and Lil One took the place and held his heart.
He leaves to cherish 7 sisters; Carolyn Young, Vickie (Ken) Jackson, Denise Thomas, Stacy Young all of Gainesville. Danielle (Nasir) Mays of Atlanta, Ga. Stephanie ( Wallace) Kemp of Athens, Ga. Regina ( Roy) Dryden of Braselton. Two brothers Tony Young and Carlos Young both of Gainesville, Ga. He Leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory. He also leaves to cherish his memory his special childhood friend Robert (Rob) Rucker. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours of 12:00 PM- 8:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Wimberly Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Alta Vista Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.  Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
