David Gerald Nesfeder

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 31, 2020

David Gerald Nesfeder (79), a former long-time resident of Allentown, PA, passed away December 26, 2020 at Bell Minor Home in Gainesville, GA, after a debilitating illness lasting many years. David and his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Nesfeder, moved to Gainesville, Ga, six years ago to be closer to their son, David Nesfeder Jr and his family. Born September 2, 1941 in Myersville, PA, David was the son of the late John S. and Ludmilla Von Goldman Nesfeder and was preceded in death by sister, Madeline Haslam, and brothers, Robert and Michael Nesfeder.

He was lovingly cared for at home by his wife with the help of dedicated care givers until his hospitalization in October.

David served proudly as a United States Marine after which he gained his pilot licenses. He was dedicated to exercise and was a skillful and self-learned handyman. There wasn’t much he wouldn’t try to repair or build. He enjoyed using, repairing and building computers as well as flying and gardening. In Pennsylvania he was known for his perfect lawn. But David’s biggest enjoyment was spending time with his grandsons who were his major motivation in moving to Georgia. David was a member of Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville, GA.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia Majetic Nesfeder of Gainesville, GA; son David Nesfeder Jr, and his wife, Heather, of Gainesville, GA; grandsons Sven, Finn and Liam Nesfeder of Gainesville, GA; brother-in-law Dr. Walter Haslam of Ormond Beach, FL; sister-in-law Patricia Cerula Nesfeder of Schnecksville, PA, as well as many nephews, nieces, and grand nieces and nephews.

David will be interred with military honors at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Little & Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, GA. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or your local food bank.
