Mela Cristina Thompson

Obituary Date: Friday, January 1, 2021

Mela Crispina Thompson age 75 of Gainesville passed away peacefully Friday January 1, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mela was born January 7, 1945 in the Philippines but had lived in Gainesville for a number of years. She retired from the Hall County School System. She had a love for people. Mela loved to cook for everyone, she loved crafts and needlework and she loved her family. No love compared to the love she had for the Lord. She loved posting Bible verses and sharing it with friends. She was preceded in death by sister, Lucrecia Robinson.

Survivors include husband, Jimmy A. Thompson; children & spouses, Ramon & Violetta Thompson, Rameses & Christine Thompson & Maria & Odis A. Wilkerson; grandchildren, Sara & Brandon Heckman, Jimmy R. Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Heidi Thompson, Anthony Wilkerson, Vanessa Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Kenneth Thompson & John Thomas Wilkerson; great grandson, Winston Lee “Tonton” Heckman, brother, Ricardo Marcelino Pin`ero; brother-in-law, Robby Robinson. 

Memorial services to honor Mela’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 5, 2021 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alex Gailey officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
