Betty Sue Tolbert

Mrs. Betty Sue Tolbert, 75, of Lula, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson, Ga. Rev. Eddie Bouknight will officiate. Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the family will meet at the cemetery and there will be no visitation.

Born on May 20, 1945 in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Vonner Tolbert. She was a custodian for the University of Georgia and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tolbert is preceded in death by her husband, Tom McDonald; son, Rick Reeves and sisters, Bob Colewell and Helen Ward.

Mrs. Tolbert is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Eddie and Linda Reeves of Lula, Vince and Jenny Thrasher of Sevierville, TN; brother and sister in law, Buster and Joan Tolbert of Athens; sister, Eula Mae Neese of Pendergrass; sister and brothers in law, Brenda and Jimmy Langford of Pendergrass; sisters, Carolyn Rhome of Athens, Patsy and Rabun Ginn of Watkinsville; brother, Buford Tolbert of Savannah; numerous grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. She had many close loving friends, especially Lorraine Westmoreland.
