Sara Coreen Harkins

Mrs. Sara Coreen Harkins, 96, of Flowery Branch, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Oaks @ Limestone.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Jones and Rev. Corbin Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Born on October 1, 1924 in White Plains, GA, she was the daughter of the late Turner C. and Ila Grace Ivie. She was a homemaker and a member of Northlake Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harkins is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Harkins; son, Fred Harkins; siblings, Mozelle Knight, Q.R. Ivie, George M. Ivie, Bobby R. Ivie, Young Ivie, Bud Ivie, Larry Ivie, Jewell Ivie, Lucille Harkins, Betty Quarterbaum, Pauline Marlow, Myra Grace Ivie and Jack Ivie.

Mrs. Harkins is survived by her sons, Benny Harkins of Gainesville, Larry Harkins (Nancy) of Murrayville, Ronald Harkins (Margaret) of Gainesville, Phillip Harkins (Sheila) of Cumming, David Harkins (Sandy) of Flowery Branch; daughter in law, Mary Jane Harkins of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
