Donald “Donnie” Dorsey

Mr. Donald “Donnie” Dorsey, age 80, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. 

Mr. Dorsey was born on October 12, 1940 to the late Dave and Stella Brown Dorsey.  Donnie loved life and the enjoyment that went along with it.  He was loved by everyone who knew him.  He had a huge heart and would do what he could for you.  Donnie joined Travis Chapel United Methodist Church at a young age; he accepted the Lord as his personal savior.  In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his step-mother, Clara Cantrell Dorsey; sisters, Jeanene Earls Moody, Christine Dorsey, and Claudine Cantrell; brothers, Robert (R.P.) Dorsey, Bennie Dorsey, Readers Dorsey, and Ronald (Boo) Cantrell; dear friend, Jessie May Cleveland.

Survivors include his siblings, David Glen (Charlene) Dorsey, Indianapolis, IN, Cecil Dorsey, Cleveland, GA, Wallace E. Dorsey, Long Beach, California, Sharon (Alfred) Hampton, Gainesville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives; childhood friends, Joseph Putnam, Dayton, OH, Barbara Jane Sosebee, Cleveland, GA; dear friend, Beverly Tate, Cleveland, GA.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mt. Yonah Cemetery.  The Rev. Alfred Hampton will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the graveside service.
