Betty Ruth Hames Bucy

Mrs. Betty Ruth Hames Bucy, age 87, of Gainesville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 25, 2020 at The Oaks at Scenic View , Baldwin, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch. Rev. Steve Fenlin will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery, Flowery Branch.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bucy was born July 28, 1933 to the late Clarence Davis Sr. and Fay Edwards Hames in Clarkesville, Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakwood and a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Bucy is also preceded in death by her husband Rodger Lee Bucy.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, David and Angie Bucy of Alto; daughter, Angela Chandler of Gainesville; grandchildren, Erin and Clark Williams of Maysville and Taylor and Jennifer Wood of Flowery Branch; and great grandchildren, Rell, Elsie and Rachel Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a Special thanks to the staff at The Oaks at Scenic View Assisted Living for loving and caring for Mrs. Bucy when the family was not able to be there during the COVID pandemic. At the request of the family, those attending the visitation and the funeral service please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
