Clarence "Oogie" Wiley Gunn

Clarence "Oogie" Wiley Gunn, age 74, of Cornelia, Georgia went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Gunn was born on September 12, 1946 to the late George Washington and Clara Belle Miller Gunn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Gunn, and Glenn Gunn. He was the last of his immediate family. Mr. Gunn had worked at Ethicon, The Northeast Georgian Newspaper, and Fieldale Farms throughout the years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Gunn was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Oogie". He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Gunn loved to spend time outdoors doing things like hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Gay Nell Caudell Gunn, of Cornelia; daughters, Trina Wilson, Vicki Gunn, Lisa Gunn, Tonia Bodiford; son, Ronald Gunn; grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Kayla Lawhorn, Nicole Barrett, Kristin Edwards, Cody Eller, Kenzielynn Bodiford; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m., to 3:15 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at the funeral home prior to the service.
