Mr. Gary Howard Anderson, 69, of Oakwood, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 following an extended illness.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Anderson’s life will be held at a later date.
Born on November 23, 1951 in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late Howard and Paralee Jones Anderson. Gary was raised in Oakwood, GA. He graduated from South Hall High School in 1969. He was a prominent member of the banking industry for over 25 years. Gary was a Gainesville Jaycee’s for a number years and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge
Gary enjoyed spending time with his family including his five grandchildren. He loved camping, smoking cigars with his friends and a good cup of coffee from Longstreet Café. He never met a stranger and loved to talk with anyone he met.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his brother, Tab Anderson and son, Mark Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter and son in law, Megan and Scott Cargile of Buford, GA; daughter, Page Anderson Odom of Oakwood; grandchildren, Kendall, Abigail, Billie Kate, Charlotte, Gunnar; brother and sister in law, Kim and Arlene Anderson of Chestnut Mountain; sister and brother in law, Vicki and Lamar Tyner of Murrayville; sister and brother in law, Tara and Scott Poole of Murrayville; mother of his children, Joan Anderson and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
