George Brown

George Brown, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on December 20, 2020. He was born on July 2, 1940 in Hiawassee to the late Sylvester Brown and the late Sallie Flanagan. He worked at the University of North Georgia for 33 years and attended the Dahlonega Assembly of God. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Jay Brown, and Ray Brown; sisters, Wilma Wilson, Velma Holcomb, Emma Carlisle, and Carrie Martin; and grandson, Michael Christopher Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeannie Brown of Dahlonega; children, Timothy (Gwen) Brown of Buford, Lyn (Ronnie) Cantrell of Dahlonega, and Shana (Craig) Adams of Dahlonega;  brothers, Daniel (Mary Lou) Brown of Myrtle Beach, and Johnny Brown of Cumming; sisters, Thelma (Larry) Harmon of Cumming, and Ruby Davis of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Meagan Cantrell, Bethany Cantrell, Mathew Adams, and Nathan Adams. 

Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Landers officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. 

The family asks that anyone attending the visitation or funeral service, to please wear a mask and practice safe social distancing.
