Cassie Lynn Thomason Brown

Mrs. Cassie Lynn Thomason Brown, age 48 of Bogart, Georgia, formerly of Stephens County passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

A daughter of Dennis and Judy Stowe Thomason, she was born February 29, 1972 in Stephens County having lived in Bogart, Georgia for the last 22 years. She was an Honor Graduate of Stephens County High School, Class of 1990. She attended Berry College and Truett McConnell College and in 2005 graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Science. She was employed with Beech Haven Baptist Church as their Business Manager. As quoted by someone from the church, in her capacity as Business Manager, she was a great deal maker, saving the church a lot of money in many different ways. She was a member of Beech Haven Baptist where she served as a teacher in the high school girls Sunday School Class, nursery worker, vacation bible school worker, a member of the median ladies Sunday School class and a fill-in on Sunday morning when needed. She served as Treasurer for Scout Troup 80 of Watkinsville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. J.W. and Mozelle Stowe.

Survivors include her parents, Dennis and Judy Stowe Thomason of Eastanollee; husband of 28 years, Ricky Brown of the home; three children of the home, Jessie Brown, Jordan Brown and Charlotte Brown; two brothers and sister-in-law, Travis Thomason of Lavonia and James and Amy Thomason of Toccoa; nieces Kinsley, Kaitlyn and Karoline Thomason; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bennie and Priscilla Brown of Toccoa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicki and Tom Pekarik of Rockwall,Texas, nephew Conner Henson, nieces, Madison Henson and McKenzie Henson and great nephew, Dean Titus Henson; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; special lifetime friend, Stephanie Simmons of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020. 2 O’clock p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church, 3729 Rock Creek Road, Toccoa with the Reverend Dr. David Mills officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Travis Thomason, James Thomason, Daniel Shelton, David Shelton, Tom Pekarik and Jack Shelton.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Ken Jackson officiating at the graveside.
