Catherine Vinson

Catherine Vinson, age 52, of Dillard, Georgia, passed away on December 16, 2020.

Catherine was born the daughter of the late Douglas Buford Vinson and Dona Coleman Vinson on August 17, 1968. In her professional life she worked as the office manager for Family Connections / Community Partnership, and was active in the Boy Scouts Organization, volunteered at the food bank, and was a leading organizer in the Charity Lane Light Display in Wolffork Valley. Catherine was a Christian and a member of the Clayton Baptist Church. She loved animals, history, archeology, genealogy and was an avid reader. She also held a BS in Theology. She loved the beach, loved to swim, and loved all her children.

Her father preceded her in death.

In addition to her mother, her survivors include, her three sons, Joshua, Ryan and Riley Vinson, of Dillard, Georgia; her daughter, Caitlyn DiGiorgio, of Rabun County; two sisters, Pamela Shackelford, of Dunwoody, Georgia and Valerie Farrar, of Buford, Georgia; two grandchildren, Asher Vinson, Tino DiGiorgio.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 19, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Stutsman and Rev. Gabe Southards officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Catherine’s memory to the Cathy Vinson Memorial Fund at Oconee Federal Bank in Clayton, Georgia.
