Nancy Burton Maloney

Obituary Date: Tuesday, December 8, 2020

The Lord has called another one of his angels to his heavenly home.  Nancy Burton Maloney, 69, passed away on the afternoon of December 8th, 2020 following extensive health issues during her adulthood.  Nancy was born September 9th, 1951 in Dekalb County to the late Homer and Louise Burton.  She is predeceased by her brother, Dr. Joseph L. Burton and sisters Helena “Cookie” Stiles, Catherine Ann Nalley and nephew Sean Lawson Burton.

She is survived by her nieces Jamie Nalley Hamilton and husband William; Karen Masters and husband Keith and nephews John Williamson and wife Alyssa; James Williamson; David Stiles and wife Emily, as well as her best friend Sheila Jenkins.  Nancy had many friends on this Earth, too many to list but a few outstanding ones come to mind:  Sheila, Theressa, Terry, Pam, Rider, Janice and many more.

Nancy loved with her whole being and enjoyed life despite all the numerous health issues she was dealt.  She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus in her early 20’s rendering her disabled for the remaining part of her life.  This however did not stop her from moving forward and living life to the fullest.  She always had a saying about her sister Cathy, for they were only 11 months apart in age and had a very close relationship.  Nancy would always say, “Cathy and I are joined at the hip”.  Although we were not ready for Nancy to depart this world, we know she had been ready to join her parents, brother and sisters and many more that have already went to our heavenly home.  Nancy is now young, disease free, pain free and celebrating with her family and friends she had been missing.  A spunky, stubborn, fiery lady she was.  She had a passion for motorcycles, NASCAR and spending quality time with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Ingrams Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming GA 30040 on December 19th, 2020 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service for visitation to begin at 11:00 am. Inurnment to be scheduled at a later date following the New Year at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs GA, 30328.

In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to the MSAA – Multiple Sclerosis Association of America at https://mymsaa.org and Lupus Foundation of America at https://www.lupus.org/give/ways-to-give
