Ethel Lucille Grant Gee passed away on December 14, 2020 from congestive heart failure at age 92. She was born February 28, 1928 to Clarence Ervin Grant and Ethel Samples Grant in Chicopee, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 60 years, Nolan Gee, her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carol Fletcher Gee, her granddaughter, Courtney Lucille Gee, her brother and sister-in-law, Jack Grant and Jean Grant Veal and several other relatives.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Gee (Mike) Buffington, her grandchildren, Mark Gee, Andrea Jones (Brian) Dyer and Emily Buffington (Headen) Embry, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and was known for serving her chicken and dressing casserole at church functions.
She was a 1945 graduate of Gainesville High School and retired from the J.C. Penney Company where she worked for 50 years, earning several District sales awards by taking such good care of customers who always asked for her by name.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 17, at 2 pm at Cool Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Ricky Stone officiating.
