Scott Eugene Dowdy

Scott Eugene Dowdy, age 58, of Cleveland, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dowdy. He is survived by his children, Claire Dowdy, Cragsmoor, NY, Clay Dowdy, Boca Raton, FL, Breanna and Jeffrey Morgan, Cleveland, GA; grandson, Weston Morgan; mother, Patricia Deaton Dowdy, Cleveland, GA; sister, Dee Dee and Kenny Stephens, Flowery Branch, GA; brother, Chuck Dowdy, Pendergrass, GA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Dowdy was born October 8, 1962 in Buford, GA. He was a 1980 graduate of Buford High School. He was retired from D. D. Battery Company, Buford, GA.  He also did construction work. He played on the First Buford Championship Football Team in 1978 and was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2:00 at the Mt. Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Flowery Branch, GA with Rev. Kenny Stephens officiating. The visitation will be for family and close friends on Wednesday, December 16^th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Everyone is requested to wear a mask during the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flanigan Funeral Home to help with expenses in memory of Scott Dowdy.
