Douglas “Doug” Thomas

Douglas “Doug” Thomas age 75 of Gainesville passed away Thursday December 10, 2020 at his residence.

Doug was born October 25, 1945 in Gainesville to the late Eugene & Louise Jones Thomas. He was retired from the City of Gainesville where he worked as a sewer construction Superintendent. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Latty; brother, Jerry Thomas; sister, Betty Jean Peck.

Survivors include, wife, Colleen Thomas; sons, Russ Thomas & Eric (Tracy) Thomas; daughters, Jamie (Bart) Buffington, Gloria Duncan & Emily (Don) Allan; sister-in-law, Nora Thomas; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild also survive.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 16, 2020 at the New Bridge Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Milton Harris officiating. Doug’s visitation room will be open for anyone to drop by the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 11:30a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
