Glenda Louise Cabe Dodd

Mrs. Glenda Louise Cabe Dodd, age 78 of Chappelear Road, Lavonia passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at The Clary Center in Toccoa.

The daughter of the late S.L. and Laurene Crunkleton Cabe, she was born March 7, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived in Stephens and Franklin Counties all her life. She was a graduate of Toccoa High School Class of 1960 and a graduate of Georgia College and State University. She taught school in Hall County and Stephens County for many years. She was the District Coordinator for Ninth District Head Start. She owned the Mom and Me Shop and was Director of Promotions for the Toccoa Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Joy Sunday School Class and Nursery Director for the Church. She was an accomplished water color artist and she loved gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Larry Dodd of the home; daughter, DeeDee Arrowood of Toccoa; grandchildren, Tripp and Rachel Arrowood, Hutch Arrowood, Hank Arrowood and Rhett Arrowood all of Toccoa; great-grandson, Tom Arrowood; brother-in-law, Mike (Jenny) Dodd of Forsyth; sisters-in-law, Ann (James) Hayes of Habersham County, Renee (Allen) Ware of Toccoa, Donna (Ronnie) Brady of Toccoa and Melinda (Barry) Adams of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Tripp Arrowood, Hutch Arrowood, Rhett Arrowood, Hank Arrowood, Jim Hayes and Mike Dodd. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Adams, Allen Ware and Ronnie Brady.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged but not required. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Entombment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Mausoleum with The Reverend Brett Sanders officiating.
