Clyde M. Rholetter

Obituary Date: Thursday, December 3, 2020

Mr. Clyde M. Rholetter, age 85 of Prather Bridge Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his residence.

 

A son of the late Alonzo S. Rholetter and Lyda Thrift Rholetter, he was born April 3, 1935 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived the greater part of his life in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a graduate of Piedmont College with a BA Degree and later a Masters Degree from the University of Georgia. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from the Stephens County School System having taught at the Stephens County Middle School for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. He loved spending time with his family and loved farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray “Bee” Rholetter, Charles Rholetter, Glenn Rholetter and Billy Rholetter and by three sisters, Juanita Norton, Mary Jane Smith and Ellene Pelfrey.

 

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Viola Ward Rholetter of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Rholetter of the home, Shirley and Joel Lowery of Suwanee and Nancy and Jonathan Peeples of Danielsville; grandchildren, Joshua and Elizabeth Lowery, Jordan Lowery, Jarrett Lowery, Haley and Austin Brock, Mack and Megan Peeples and Addison Peeples; sister, Christine “Tiny” Isler of Blufftin, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be Monday, December 7, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Toccoa with The Reverend David Ritcey and The Reverent Brett Sanders officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brian Johnson, George Sanders, Mike Cox, Frankie Whitworth, Tony Crunkleton, Kenny Waters, Larry Rholetter and Wayne Rholetter.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged but not required. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with Military Honors by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
