Matthew (Matt, Spanky) Crane

Matthew (Matt, Spanky) Crane, Age 33, passed away at his residence on Thanksgiving Day 11/26/20 in Oakwood, GA.

Matthew was born June 17, 1987 at Northeast Ga medical Center. He attended East Hall High School, where he was a member of the East Hall Viking Marching/Concert Band and graduated in 2005 from Lanier Career Academy in Oakwood, Ga. He continued his education at Lanier Tech obtaining his Associates Degree in computer technology July 23, 2018.
Matthew enjoyed all types of music including everything from Bach to Johnny Cash to slipknot. At age 6, he was playing "Wipeout" with the Georgia Gentle Band. Matthew was employed at Myers-Sargeant Consulting as a IT tech, He had found his niche, working in a field he loved. Some of Matthew's interests included fast Cars,and motorcycles. He especially enjoyed traveling to the mountains in Cherokee, NC.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Ondia Dodd,and Robert (Bob Crane),His aunt Peggy Brown and several other loved ones.

Survivors included his loving mother Katie Crane, Brother Brandon (Carla) Roberts,Aunts Patsy Howard, Marie Ramey, Kathy (Richard) Diaz, Uncle Debris Brown all of whom played a special part in Matthews life,Aunts Ellene (Roger) Standridge, Sue Brown and Uncle Bobby (Faye) Crane. Special cousin Deborah Fincher Who always believed in Matt and helped him believe in himself and achieve his goal of obtaining his Associates degree, lots of cousins and extended family including his lifelong best friend Adam Epps and Adam's parents Norman and Charlotte, who loved Matthew as their own.

Funeral services for Matt are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, December 4, 2020 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Alto.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, December 3, 2020, and again from 10 am until service time on Friday, December 4.
