Martha Viola Morrison, age 74, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Ms. Morrison was born on June 19, 1946, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late J.T. and Lenora Dorsey Richardson. She was a retired cook and worked for Truett McConnell College and Friendship Health and Rehab. Martha was a member of Cleveland Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved her family and friends. Martha touched many people with her wonderful cooking. She was a strong woman and lived life to the fullest. Ms. Morrison enjoyed singing. She was a member of One Accord singing group and sang in the Angelic Voices Choir in Gainesville for a number of years. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Gabrielle Stephens; sister, Mary Ruth Sutton; sister-in-law, Jasolene Richardson.
Survivors include her daughter, Sonya Thomas, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberli and Torrass Stephens, Gainesville, Mildred (Missy) and Kavin Sutton, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Brandon and Whitley Thomas, Melissa Thomas, Darius Bailey, Aryian Gwin, Jake Gwin; great-grandchildren, Willow Thomas, Marley Thomas, and Avaya Millsap; siblings, J.L. and Linneth Richardson, Latrelle Richardson, Jerry and Essie Richardson, Kathleen Jarrells, Mae Davis, and Barbara Jane Trammell; brother-in-law, Bud Sutton numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Pinero will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
Due to Covid-19, the family asks that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. For those unable to attend the service, it will be livestreamed on the Barrett Funeral Home YouTube channel.
