Jesse James Lovell, Sr

Mr. Jesse James Lovell, Sr. 87, of Gainesville passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Stacy Phillips and Rev. Stan Lovell will officiate. Interment will follow in Amy’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarkesville, GA at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, November 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Born on March 16, 1933 in Dillard, GA he was the son of the late Frank and Araunah Morrison Lovell. He was retired from the State of Georgia where he was Director of Vocation Rehabilitation. Mr. Lovell was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member, deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lovell is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Lovell; daughter, Melanie Lovell Ash; son in law, Robert E. Ash; six brothers and five sisters.

Mr. Lovell is survived by his son and daughter in law, Stan and Adrienne Lovell of Clarkesville; daughters and sons in law, Allen and Marcia Kesler of Clermont, Jerry and Jayne Dale of Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Jamie and Kellie Lovell of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brother, Lamar Lovell of Hickory, NC and a number of other relatives.
