Gisela N. Griffin, born June 6, 1929 in Frankfurt Germany, passed away in Huntsville, Al. on November 20, 2020.
Mrs. Griffin was born into the turmoil of World War 2 in Germany, came to America at age 12 and was raised and educated in New Jersey and Florida. She married William Alvie Griffin on August 10, 19 58 and had one daughter, Karen Joy on September 20, 1962. Mrs. Griffin was a foreign language teacher in both Florida and Georgia whose career progressed to become the Foreign Language Coordinator for Dekalb County Georgia and culminated as the Georgia State Foreign Language Coordinator.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Joy Mann, her son in law Marc, grandson Daniel, granddaughter Erica and great-granddaughter born to Daniel, Ava Grace.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, at 3:00 p.m. at the Sawnee View Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
