Helen Marie Gilstrap Buice

Helen Marie Gilstrap Buice, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Helen was born May 12, 1926, to Bright William and Annie Mae Jones Gilstrap.  She attended North Georgia College in 1945 as a scholarship recipient.  She married James Renzo Buice after he returned from World War II. She lived a full life caring for her family and traveling.  As a gifted seamstress, award-winning quilter, and talented crocheter she filled her days during the winter months with these hobbies.  During warmer months you could find her working in her garden or fishing on her dock.  She was always ready for a fishing trip and took great pride in canning each year’s harvest.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Renzo Buice, brother, Henry G. Gilstrap, sister, Sally J. Stalnaker, son, William Stephen Buice, and granddaughter, Senia Marie Phillips.

She is survived by her son, James Ronald (Judy) Buice, daughter-in-law, Joan Buice, daughter, Patti Marie Buice, and son, Robert Graham (Teresa) Buice, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Sharon Community Cemetery in Cumming, GA.
