Ralph L. Carey

Obituary Date: Friday, November 13, 2020

Mr. Ralph L. “Skip” Carey of Lula passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 from a brief illness at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, November 16th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Skip was born in Milton, DL, the son of the late Ralph N. and Helen Edginton Carey. He graduated from Delaware High School and went to North Georgia College where he received his accounting degree. Mr. Carey was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served for 20 years (1950 – 1971) and retired Master Chief. He was a realtor in Gainesville and Hall County for 22 years working last for Re Max.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carey is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Daphyne Carey.

Mr. Carey is survived by his special companion, Nancy Browning of Lula; daughter, Glenda Slade of Corpus Christi, TX; sons, Ralph E. “Skip” Carey of Baytown, TX, Casey (Monnette) Carey of Orlando, FL, Keith (Elizabeth) Carey of Floresville, TX;  5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Miller of Wilmington, DL, Lynn Ivory of Dover DL; brothers and sisters in law, Malcolm and Betty Carey of Elkton, MD, Preston and Sue Carey of Ft. Pierce, FL; great niece, Kerri Hathaway of Locust, Grove, GA and several nieces, nephews  and many friends.
