Mrs. Josephine Watson Scheerer, age 75 of Stargate Drive, Martin passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia.
A daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Poole Watson, she was born February 3, 1945 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived the greater part of her life. She was retired from Eaton Corporation. She attended Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tut Junior Watson and Randall Watson and by a sister, Kathleen Adams.
Survivors include her husband of the home, Stephen Scheerer; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Richard Heaton of Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Julie Woodall of Monroe, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Ashley and Larry, Shannon, Kimberly Jo, Hope, Haley, Brady, Peyton, Eric and Tim; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Watson and Mike Watson both of Toccoa and Kenneth Watson of Jacksonville, Florida; four sisters, Mary Saylors, Evelyn Thurston and Mildred McConnell all of Toccoa and Joyce Brown of Clayton.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 6, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Mr. Dale Payne officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from noon until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Josephine Watson Scheerer.
