Lois Jean Bridges

Ms. Lois Jean Bridges, age 84, of Commerce, GA died Tuesday, November 03, 2020 at Bountiful Hills Senior Living Community.  Ms. Bridges was born in Commerce to the late Hoke and Clara Purcell Thomas.  She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress.  She operated Hems and Sew Forth in Commerce for a number of years, doing sewing and clothing alterations.  Lois loved cooking, sewing, canning and freezing vegetables, and hosting family Sunday lunches.  She loved being surrounded by family and being “Granny.”

Ms. Bridges is survived by her daughters, Susan Bruce (Keith) of Commerce, Kathy Wilbanks (Bill) of Jefferson and Laurie Brown (Brad) of Gainesville; brothers, Joe Thomas of Commerce and Bill Thomas of Murrayville; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 PM, Thursday, November 5 at Jackson Memorial Park with Brad Brown officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from noon until 2 PM.  The family requests, in lieu of flowers contributions be made to your favorite charity.
