Carley Lee Johnson, Jr.

Carley Lee Johnson, Jr., age 89 of the Skitts Mountain Community, Cleveland, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 30, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Born in Santa Rosa County, Florida on December 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Carley Lee, Sr. & Hattie Mae Nowling Johnson. Mr. Johnson worked as a builder where he was the owner/operator of Johnson Construction & Truss Company for over 20 years. He later retired as a machine setter from Avery Dennison with 10 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Mr. Johnson enjoyed farming, camping, tending his cattle & goats, his bulldogs, & various other pets. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, and papa who especially loved doting on his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Nell Cook Johnson; daughter & son-in-law, Shellie & Jeff Gerrell all of the Skitts Mountain Community, Cleveland, GA; sister, Viola Hardegree of Cape Coral, FL;  grandchildren, Madison & Stephen Hester; Malia Gerrell; Brayden Gerrell; Owen Gerrell; great-grandson, Isaac Gerrell; nephews, Sean Hardegree, Kevin Hardegree, & Dale Hardegree; & niece, Karen Hardegree Darlin; & many other friends.

A private family service will be held on Monday, November 02, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in the Return Baptist Church Cemetery.
