Charles Russell “Russ” Bell

Obituary Date: Saturday, October 24, 2020

Charles Russell “Russ” Bell, age 52, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning, October 24, 2020.

Russ was born June 6, 1968 in Atlanta, Georgia to Charles W. Bell and Virginia Sue Rutledge Bell. He is a graduate of Lakeside High School, Class of ’86, in Dekalb County, and attended Southern Tech and Young Harris College. Russ had a very successful career in the concrete industry spanning 30 years and most recently working for McCarthy Improvements as a QC manager. Russ married Elise Camuso Bell on March 24, 2007 and welcomed their only child Savannah on August 29, 2009. Russ was a wonderfully devoted husband and father and his greatest joys in life were his wife and daughter, fishing and his family. He loved to go out on the lake early in morning when the water was as smooth as glass and “hunt” for Striper. Russ loved to build and tinker with things. He was constantly building or fixing anything and everything around their house. He built a “mini-mansion” tree house for his daughter and helped many friends and family members with thing around their homes.

Russ is survived by his wife and daughter, Elise and Savannah Bell, of Buford, mother Virginia Sue Bell of Roswell, father Charles W.  and Lynne Bell, of Winder, his sister Hope Morris (Brent Morris), of Hernando Beach, FL their children, Lance Harkins (Laura), Amanda (Justin Styles), Cullie Morris and Alissa Morris. His step sister Sandra Williams of Winder, and her children, Chaz Williams (Lindsay), Crystal Locke (Bryan) and Clayton Williams (Codee) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will host a visitation on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 12 pm to 2 pm at 241 Richter Drive, Bethlehem, GA 30620. In times like this, it is human nature to want to hug and comfort. But, in today’s COVID world, the family is asking for the safety of the family and you, to please wear a mask and to social distance if possible.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Camp Kesem. Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parents cancer.
