Harold "Gene" Adams

Mr. Harold “Gene” Adams, age 68, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, October 26, 2020.

Gene was born in Oraville, California on December 3, 1951 to the late Homer and Fannie Odell Adams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Christopher Eugene Adams; brothers Johnny Adams, Barnell Adams, Earl Adams, and Jimmy Adams; sisters Rose Morelli, Marty Tridico, Freddy Jeanette and Chubby Dowdy. Mr. Adams was a loving husband and father. His grandchildren lovingly called him “Papa Gene”. Mr. Adams' favorite pastime was playing his guitar and singing. His favorite hobby was collecting “Hot Wheels” and he was proud of his growing collection. Most days you would find Gene just, what he called, “piddling “ around his house.  He was a member of Shepherds Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, of 42 years, India Adams; daughter Dana Adams; daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Tommy Duckworth, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Tristin Duckworth, Taylor Knight, Kaleb Duckworth, Emily Adams, Ethan Adams, and Breanna Grace Norrell; great-grandchild Christopher Knight; sisters Lee and Roger Bowshier, Ohio, and Linda Roaden, Dawsonville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday and 11:00 AM to the service hour Friday at the funeral home.
