Richard Jasper Miller

Obituary Date: Monday, October 26, 2020

Mr. Richard Jasper Miller, 80, of Lula, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at North East Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Alvin Burns, Rev. Gregg Poole, Rev. Chris Gilbert and Rev. Billy Poole will officiate. Interment will be in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 21, 1940 in Hall County, Mr. Miller retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a lifetime member of the UAW Local 882 Hapeville, GA. and a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church where he was a church deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Miller served in the Ga. National Guard, United States Army and the United States Air Force.

Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his father, Joe R. Miller and his wife, Sarah “Sally” Miller.

Mr. Miller is survived by his daughter, Susan Black of Lula; sons and daughters in law, Joel R. and Cheri Miller of Lula, Scott and Danielle Miller of Maysville; son, Steven Miller of Lula; grandchildren, Zac, Zane, Zeb, Kaitlin, Lauren, Sophie, Anna, Jacob, Jonas and Jared; great grandchildren, Levi, Everett, Reese, Jaxson and Oliver; sister, Marilyn Irlbacher of NH; brother, Lee Miller of Flowery Branch; special nephew, Mike Irlbacher; best friend and hunting partner, Pat Sloan and a number of other relatives.
