Michael D Whitfield

Mr. Michael D. Whitfield, 72, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Family Worship Center OGT 5004 McEver Rd. Oakwood, GA 30566. Rev. Gary Osteen will officiate.

Born on February 4, 1948 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Roy and Maxine Crowe Whitfield. He was retired from ZF Manufacturing where he was a machine operator. Mr. Whitfield was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Totherow.

Mr. Whitfield is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Whitfield of Gainesville; daughter, Cassie Marsh (Corey) of Oakwood; grandchildren, Lexi Mendenhall of Clarkesville, Tyleigh Whitfield of Buford, Riley Marsh of Oakwood, Jace Marsh of Oakwood; great grandchildren, Kinslee Moore of Clarkesville, Briar Mize of Clarkesville; sister, Barbara Judd of Cleveland; brother, Benny Whitfield of Hall County and a number of other relatives.
