Teresa Lynn (Sissy) Payne

Teresa Lynn Payne, known affectionately by all as Sissy, went to her Heavenly Home on October 13, 2020.

Sissy was born on May 29, 1959, to Faye Davis Payne and the late Loy Clayton Payne. Survivors include her mother, Faye; her brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Teresa Payne; sister and brother-in-law, Holly and Tim VonWald; niece and her husband, Brittany and Mitchell Edge; great-nephew, Conner Edge, and great-niece, Chloe Edge.

Sissy was a light in the lives of all who knew her, bringing the unconditional love that only those with Down syndrome know how to give to everyone she ever met. If you knew her, you couldn’t help but love her. And if you were really on her favorites list, you know what fun it was to let her take you out to get her a double cheeseburger and a Coke! She loved Jesus, her family, music, and taking rides. Her favorite singers were Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and Charley Pride.

Her family would like to say a special thank you to the amazing staff of Suncrest Home Health, the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Northeast Georgia Medical Center Barrow, all of whom loved on her during her walk Home to be with Jesus and her Daddy.  They would also like to thank the many friends and family who visited, called, and texted during this time.

There are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in honor of Sissy to the White County Special Olympics {contact info?}.
